Introduction
The Nilgiri mountains offer a wealth of options for people travelling with their four-legged friend. These accommodations, ranging from budget hotels to luxury resorts offer pets the same comforts as guests at their property. Here are some of my favourite hotels, resorts and homestays should you plan to take your four-legged companion along with you on your trip.
I have analysed the accommodations’ location, standard of the rooms, quality and variety of food, facilities, and value for money. Some of the accommodations mentioned below may charge extra for your dog. So, I request you to please check before finalising your stay. Also, if you follow a specific diet or dog food, then I suggest you carry it with you since there is no guarantee that you might get similar food at the stay.
Though most accommodations offer a doggy bowl, I suggest you carry that as well since the one at the hotel may be used by other dogs and last thing you want is to bring home a sick dog.
GoStops!
GoStops is a hostel for backpackers perfectly suited for travellers who want to meet new people.
goStops is located close to all major attractions in Ooty and is even close to the railway station. The rooms are very spacious, clean, with all basic amenities.
If you’re looking to stay with your dog in Ooty, goStops is a great place to do it. The property is large and has many interesting things to do within it. They have a beautiful garden where you and your dog can laze around or maybe play fetch. GoStops also has a games room with all the usual board games, billiards, foosball etc.
They offer male and female exclusive dormitories with ensuite bathrooms. They also offer individual rooms for those who want more privacy. I suggest taking the private room if you are travelling with your dog so that there is a little less anxiety for both your dog and other travelers.
The rooms are vibrant and have a young feel to them, making them perfect for those looking for something different from the typical hotel room experience.
The food, however, is rather disappointing. There are other restaurants in the area that I recommend you try instead. Dabba Express, Earl’s Secret, Place to Bee and Vijaya Tea Shop are some good cafes and restaurants nearby that you should definitely try.
All in all, it’s a great place, especially if you are travelling with your pet dog.

Likes
- Tastefully designed decors.
- The garden is a great place for your dog.
